I’m sure you’ve discovered our love for traveling from our instagram feed (#perennialtravels), so we decided to introduce a new travel segment to our blog where we feature our favorite hotels or travel destinations every Tuesday for all of you who share our wanderlust! Since it’s a scorching hot Texas day, we figured we’d start with one of our all-time cold-weather escapes: Banff, Canada. For anyone who has never been to Canada, I insist you add it to your must-see vacation list.
Ever since our parents checked us into the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel many years ago, this Castle in the Rockies has become one of our absolute favorite vacation spots of all time. Located in the heart of Banff National Park, this luxury and historic hotel makes the perfect getaway for adults or families to enjoy an escape from reality.
From the second you step foot inside the hotel, you are taken aback by the incredible beauty of the hotel interiors. From the gorgeous ballrooms to the cozy lounges, this hotel is as picturesque inside as it is on the outside. Nestled in the middle of serene mountains, the Banff Springs Hotel instantly makes sweeps you off your feet. Relaxation at its finest!
No trip to the mountains is complete without a little skiing! Though there are three places to ski in the area (Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, and Norquay), we recommend checking out Lake Louise. Though the skiing is definitely on a more advanced level, the mountains are incredible + you have the opportunity to visit another one of our favorite hotels, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Absolutely breath-taking! For any of you Bachelor viewers, this happens to be the hotel where the Polar Bear Plunge took place!
WHERE TO EAT:
The hotel features a huge variety of dining options for any palate, from casual to upscale and everything in between. One of our favorite restaurants of all time is actually located in Banff, so this is #1 on our dining recommendations: The Grizzly House. A warm and cozy restaurant featuring the most delicious hot rock and fondue selections from cheeses to chocolates to wild game – overall, YUM!
